God’s Own Country (2017) gay film

God’s Own Country is a British drama film written and directed by Francis Lee. The story is about a young sheep farmer in Yorkshire whose life is turned upside down by the arrival of a Romanian migrant worker. The film was the only UK-based production to feature in the world drama category at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival. Young farmer Johnny Saxby numbs his daily frustrations with binge drinking and casual sex, until the arrival of a Romanian migrant worker for lambing season ignites an intense relationship that sets Johnny on a new path.
